What’s New On Mr Javo 2.0

October 16th, 2008

Written by Mr Javo

Hey everyone! Finally, after a month of hard work I have finished and set up the new version of Mr Javo dot Com. Many interesting changes have been made and I would like to talk about it in order to let you know what I have improved for you.

First of all, let’s review the original version of my blog, Mr Javo 1.0:

The header was a total waste of space. The logo occupied all the header and the navigation was not the best, having in mind that if I created many pages the menu would be over the logo, something which could be seen as anti-aesthetic.

About the body, the articles showed a banner 300×250, which didn’t let me to put any imagine in the top of any post.

The footer had nothing, it just displayed a copyright and nothing else.

In general, that theme was a little slow, everything was made with big images and few CSS. The next theme is much faster, I have optimized it with less images and more CSS codes.

What’s New on Mr Javo 2.0

Basically, I made up a new theme  . I have changed several things, starting with the CSS styles with which I five to this new theme a cooler look.

New logo! When I was redesigning the old theme, I wanted to improve the logo because it didn’t look like me (not at all). The thing was when I wanted to do it, I couldn’t find the .psd (photoshop file) of my logo! So I had to create a new one, which in my opinion looks more like me and as I said, it is more fresh!

No more waste of space in the header! I have reordered the header, and now you could see a 468×60px banner besides the logo, which will have the better exposure on my blog because of its position.

Better navigation! I moved the navigation menu below the header, this way it won’t be difficult for you to find it and surf through my blog.

Subheader added! I have created 3 sections below the menu. At the left, you can find the form of sign up for my newsletter, which you could receive exclusive promotions, special reports, secret tips and more! Sign up now and receive a free copy of my eBook The Affiliate’s Start Guide, with which you can learn the basics about how to create a website and start making money online!

At the center, you will find a section with the most popular posts! This way you will always have something interesting for reading.

And finally at the right, you will find the RSS subscription area, which you can subscribe to this blog through a rss reader or by email. If you want to know what should you subscribe to this blog, I invite you to take a look on the page Why Subscribe?.

The sidebar is quite similar than the old one, with some little differences on the widgets.

New sections on the footer! Now you will see 4 sections in the footer. I don’t have decided yet what will I put there, probably the categories, a little info about me, the recommended money makers or something like…

New look on comments! I updated the comments form and now you can reply to other people’s comments, something very useful which help to avoid using @user… in the comments. Also, I have changed the mybloglog avatar plugin for the Gravatar one. This avatars are widely recognized by many services, so I prefered to implement them here. If you don’t have a Gravatar, create one now!

Final Thoughts

I feel very well looking the new theme working well, but probably I missed something. If you find any error, bug or anything else don’t hesitate to contact me and notify me about the issue. By the way, I have changed my contact form too  .

SPECIAL NEWS: I am preparing a contest which I will be launching tomorrow! There are more than $1800 in prizes and counting! So stay tuned and don’t forget to participate, there will be many great sponsored prizes here…

I really like the new mrjavo. The header is cool, and looks really nice with the pages right underneath it. The blog looks nice and professional, I can’t tell you how many blogs …johnchow…johncow… who have such trashy looking sites, lots of clashing colors. The light blue and white is very nice and easy to read. I vote yes for the new template.
