What Should I Know To Write An Ebook?

September 21st, 2008

Written by Mr Javo

Hello reader, this will be a short but direct post, this entry is a direct question for you, as you could noticed it with the title. With the launching of Mr Javo dot Com 2.0, I want to launch (with a newsletter) a free ebook. I already have the topic and everything I want to write there, but the problem is that I have never written an ebook or something similar, and I want to do this good.

Should I know something special to write an ebook? I know there are some rules to write a book, but I don’t know if I need to apply that on an electronic book (that’s because I want to do this good, just for that). What do you recommend me? Do you have written or read articles which I could find information of this nature?

I would like to include your tips and resources  .

There really isn’t anything special in writing eBooks. You just have to be really good at the topic that is explained in it. Why write an eBook on something you can’t even do, right? :)

Could you be a little more specific in what you want here?

I would like to read your opinions Dennis. May be some of you think that I should use capitalized letters… I’m looking for posts related to this topic (in other words, I want you to research for me  haha joking)

You will need to know how to use hyperlinks within pages, you will need to be able to go deep into a topic, and you will need to know how to make it look good.

I should know what I need to focus on in the ebook , most of the time ebooks tend to focus on unnecessary aspects.

Hey Mr. Javo,

I think offering a free ebook is a great marketing tactic.

As far as what you need to know to write one, the only thing I would suggest you focus on is format, and most importantly, make sure it’s in .pdf form.

If it’s not in .pdf form, then a lot of people, and I mean a lot of people, won’t be able to read your ebook.

never written an ebook unfortunately. but i guess most of the usual advice on writing applies. i especially appreciate small chunks of text, more white space, so that the book’s more readable.

Even I haven’t written e-book till now, but some of my friends writing this. They starts e-book on a unique theme.
Simply describes a main topic in details so readers can understand that.
If your e-book has not higher content value still it can be useful if it is easy to understand And helping people in something they want.

I think I’ll agree with Melvin, E-book can be about anything but should be interesting enough to make the reader read the e-book!

Great idea. I would be very interested in what you decide, how you go about writing it, your marketing approach, and what you learn from the process. Maybe that could be a future blog post topic. Just an idea. Thanks.

There is nothing special about writing eBooks. You write them as you write regular books. If you can write a book, you definitely can write an eBook. Good luck.
