The Act Of Repeating The Content

September 15th, 2008

Written by Mr Javo

In all this months I have being blogging, I have read several blogs about making money online, seo, internet marketing and other variated stuff. Something I noticed all them have in common with each other relates the writting style. Each blogger has a different writing style, it’s something that characterize them.

There are something very common in this atmosphere, each blogger (includding me) have repeated something that it wrote in the past, an idea for example. But all these bloggers are really repeating their past content or they are just developing something new based in a past idea?

That’s something I have asked myself for, because I recognize that I have written very similar articles, but they can be saw from different perspectives. And now is where we got the different points of view, between the blogger and its readers.

Normally the blogger won’t feel it’s repeating its articles, unless it is too obvious. Nevertheless, the people at the other side of the the web, the same people who read its blog constantly can have different thoughts about this topic. More than the blogger, its readers are the persons who recognize the blogger’s misspelling, and also the duplicated content. If you are duplicating in any way your ideas, your readers will notice it, and eventually they will notify you.

Could be the blogger’s writing style the responsible of this?

What if I told you that the one responsible of this is the blogger’s writing style? Yes, after analyzing this topic I thought that may be some articles of the same blogger are very similar simply because all they were wrote by the same person! The writing style is something unique, and probably each blogger’s mind tends to unconsciously “repeat” the same idea, just because it’s focused and based in a big main idea, which in theory should be the blog’s niche; make money online, social networks, technology, food etc etc etc…

So when you think that a blogger is repeating the content, instead closing it’s blog why don’t you tell to it your feedback? I think it could be a WIN-WIN situation for everybody.

I’ve noticed a lot of blogs with similar cotent. I don’t mind reading it because it might say the samething but it written in a unique style.

Its just great to see different perspectives of how people perceive things online.

Hey yeah you are right, but what about the similar content in a same blog?

Different prospective is meaningful but it is considerable to what prospective you are writing similar content and must you have to power of express your prospective.

Many times I’ve become prone to purposely repeating content. Not to annoy my readers but sometimes I don’t say all of what I wanted to say with a particular subject. As things come up to me later I’m always like “oh I so wanted to say this or that” and instead of editing my post I’ll often write another from a slightly different perspective in order to get my point across to more people.

Of course I don’t have as many readers as you either so that may effect my ability to repeat without losing readers.

I do repeat subjects sometimes too, but I never replicate the exact same content. When I talk again about something, it is necessarily from a different perspective or with a different approach.

I find I repeat myself a lot, usually when an idea wasn’t complete the first time. And sometimes when the same issue comes up again and I know more about it.

I don’t mind this much on other blogs. It is good to see the same subject from different angles.

and it’s also possible that the author, while writing that new post, inadvertently slipped into the thought process of a previous one. it happens. we’re all just people after all. doesn’t bother me that much.

I haven’t repeated myself yet (I don’t think), but I’m not against it as long as it’s stylized in a different manner…point of view…perspective, etc.

Excellent responses, all of you got a similar conclusion, that we are customary to repeat the ideas when we find something that we didn’t mentioned in a preview post related to the same topic.

However, the information is always changing and that’s when we “repeat” the topic with a different angle.

Thank you for your note and letting me come here and give you my 2cents. For what it’s worth I sometimes repeat myself because I might have left a small detail out from before.
I love to read. Blog when I have time laugh much!

I think repeating content is fine as long as the blogger puts his/her own spin to it!
