December 6th, 2008

Written by Mr Javo

Hi readers, if you feel discouraged or you don’t have motivation to write something great, you need to check out the posts I’m going to give you in this series.

I don’t know why, but during the week I was collecting great posts in order to share them with you, as usually… My surprise was when I started writing this post because almost all the articles collected this week are perfect to find a huge wave of motivation – they encourage you in many ways!.

Let’s check them out and I hope you like them – I really loved them:

I recommend you to read the post of Freelance Folder and the one of Chris Brogan, they can give you hundreds of ideas to write about… I have a couple of things in mind which I will be posting during the next weeks…

Have a good weekend!

Spreading Love – November Post-Black Friday

November 29th, 2008

Written by Mr Javo

Hi readers, the last month I was running 2 polls related with my blog. Probably you already saw the results but I’m going to share them with you now:

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

In this poll I asked you about my new theme, if you like it or not… Perhaps I got some negative replies, the most of the people like my new style, which is very important for me and for my brand. For those who voted against my new theme, I would like to know your thoughts about it and why don’t you like this one…?

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

In this other poll I asked you about the browser you use because some users reported an error on my blog with IE. So this poll was to verify how many people is seeing this error, in order to know if is a priority or not to fix it.

Well followers as usual, now let’s check the posts of this week:

This week I will post something about a contest that I have planned, so stay tuned! Happy Weekend

PS: How was the black friday!? Cheers!

Hi readers, to introduce this chapter of my series Spreading Love, I want to give you an advance of my new series of posts.

I don’t know why I never did it, but since the next month I will start writing posts giving to you my income reports. In these reports, besides the green numbers, I will give you some tips about how I did that money, this way you could duplicate them and earn money with your blog as I do.

Also, the next month I will create a website related to my web design services. The page that I created here in my wordpress installation is far from good and impressive. If I want to catch people who want to hire a web designer, I’m not giving my best with that page… So, may be I will create  a page on a subdomain like design.mrjavo.com or acquire a new domain name, I’m not to sure… What do you suggest me?

Ok enough of talking, let’s check the links of this week. I highly recommend you to check ALL the links, all of them are great and helpful.

The readings of this week will help you a lot if you want to run a new business. So, I hope you like them! Have a great weekend.

Aren’t you following me on Twitter? I invite you to do it!

Now let’s check what I found this week. Personally, I think that there are very valuable resources of Seth Godin and Chris Brogan among others!

Yan talked about 8 Google lessons that he learned from Garry Conn, and I have to say that it’s a great post that I have learned from!

Also I highly recommend you to check out the post of Alex on JohnChow dot Com. It’s very related with the article that I posted this week titled Do You Plan Your Projects.

In conclusion, all these posts are great! So I hope you like it and see you the next week!.

To finish, I want to wish Good Luck to all the participants of my Contest! Tomorrow I will make the sweeptake through random.org…

Halloween

Hi guys, I hope you enjoyed this Halloween and had fun with your costumes… I don’t know you, but I have noticed that many companies are holding contests this month! I have received tons of emails from Pepperjam’s advertisers which in my opinion, they have really great offers. The most of them are giving away ipods, gif cards and other cool stuff for those who make 30 leads on November… All of them have different meetings, so you should read the rules of them separately. Honestly I don’t have time right now to attack those offers and I hope you do, so I invite you to join to Pepperjam Network and take advantage of these contests!

As usual, I collected the very best posts that I found this week, so let’s review them:

In other news, I want to let you know that my Entrecard Account was deleted the past thursday. Let’s check the email they sent me:

Your account 'Mr Javo dot Com' on entrecard.com has been deleted. The administrator gave the following reason:

rule 5, http://entrecard.com/docs/doku.php?id=blog_quality_standards

Please contact deleted@entrecard.com if you have any questions regarding this action.

Now, let’s check the main rules of Entrecard:

  1. No nudity: Entrecard, and its members blogs, are generally family friendly. Blogs with images containing nudity are not permitted. This includes nudity in advertisements.
  2. English only: Until we develop the infrastructure necessary to facilitate non-English language blogs, English is the only language allowed in Entrecard.
  3. Minimum 5 posts: Blogs with no posts, or less than 5 quality posts written within the last 3 months, will be removed.
  4. Content must be original: Reproduced content does not provide the specific qualities we are looking for in the Entrecard network. This includes both sites that use legitimate reprintable content such as “free articles”, abstracts and public domain content as well as illegitimate, illegal content such as stolen content or scraped feeds. Duplicate content, such as posts that appear on two or more blogs belonging to the same person is also unacceptable.
  5. No full-screen ads or popups: Blogs that include full-screen ads or popups will be removed. This includes any popup window that appears when the site has finished loading or when clicking to view an article. It is OK for links to display a popup window if the user clicks a link, e.g. FeedBurner email subscription, but popup ads or forceful messages asking people to subscribe without clicking anything are intrusive and therefore not allowed.
  6. No illegal file downloads: Blogs that link to illegally shared files, such as music, movies or software, will be removed. By “illegal” we mean content that you do not have the right to distribute. Linking to free, legal music and software is permitted.
  7. Entrecard widget must be present: Including the widget on your site is a requirement if you wish to participate in Entrecard.
  8. No redirects: Sites that use a redirect (such as tinyurl links) as the URL on their account will be deleted.
  9. No duplicate accounts: If you have more than one account for the same blog, the duplicate account will be deleted.
  10. URLs must be valid: Sites with URLs that do not work or are wrongly typed will be deleted.
  11. No autoplaying audio: This includes music that plays automatically when you visit the page, or short audio ads that come up unannounced.
  12. Content must be recent: Sites that have not been updated in 3 months will be removed.

This week I added a popup referred to my newsletter on Mr Javo dot Com. This popup will show up just ONCE per visitor,  so you don’t have to worry about. However that’s an experiment, so may be I will remove it in the next weeks.

Rewarding my Top Commentator

Once again, this month my top commentator was Dennis Edell. Man, I know you love my blog and I want to thank you so much for leaving these great comments here, but let the others win!! So as I said in the newsletter, you cannot be rewarded again until after 2 months since your last award. So let’s check who the winner is…

It seems like there are 2 winners this month! To be fair, I will give to both kouji and Ben Pei, a text link for a month on my blog! So guys, use the contact form to send me the details of your submission: title, url and alt text for your link.

Thanks for reading me and see you the next week!
