RSS Channels and Directories Where You Can Submit Your RSS On

September 26th, 2008

Written by Mr Javo

Some days ago I wrote about how you can use your RSS to “boost” your blog. In other words, I talked about different ways that you can use your RSS feed in order to increase the traffic of your blog. Besides some other methods, in that post I mentioned the use of rss directories in order to expand and spread the word of your blog.

One of my loyal readers asked me the following question in one of his comments:

Could you do a follow-up and list some of the rss directories and search engines?

Of course I can Dennis! I never thought about doing a list of directories, but thanks for the excellent idea. So then, I collected some RSS directories and search engines where you can submit your Blog’s feed and this way your blog will be exposed to a bigger audience so surely you will capture new readers  .

That big list has rss channels, aggregators and directories where you can submit your rss feeds. Some of them are good, some of them are better but remember to submit your feed in the right category! That’s a really important thing because then you could be slapped by those search engines.

Enjoy submitting!

Nice list of places to submit to.

I started doing this a while back, but I have thing . . . submitting.

Whether it’s blog details to directories or articles to article submissions sites, I hate submitting!

It’s tedious! But it’s definitely worthwhile.

I have a friend who submitted to over 100 RSS directories and they receive over 1,500 visits a month from those directories alone — consistently.

Your content can be stolen and people will take the whole article as opposed to the snippet they’re supposed to take, however.

So, it’s important to have a copyright plugin for your feed.

No matter how tedious it can be, I’ve got to get around to it as well. Because it definitely is worth it.

Thanks for sharing.

Yes, that is a list! I tried to tackle two of them. WebDevTips points to what looks like a list of popular feeds, but then I went to the add a site page — they’ve turned off this feature due to spam! Another reason to hate spam.

The Yahoo RSS link requires an id which I used but then it offered to put the feed on myYahoo page. I can’t find the directory itself to see if feed was added to the right category — do you know how to verify ?? Thanks for the list and any input on the Yahoo question.

Comment by Mr Javo | 27 Sep 2008 at 11:11

I don’t know how to verify that, but if Yahoo didn’t ask you for a category I think that you don’t need to care about it… I recommended that because many of those directories ask you for a category…

Ouch man, who has the time to submit to all these? lol

I guess we need an “auto-pilot” tool or something… or outsource the entire procedure.

While I do not agree with auto social posters or rss submissions, I’ve seen a lot of “reputable” marketers using them lately.

Isn’t this immoral, or what?

@ codrut
Just as what your blog name is, I didnt saw a person lazier than you :P….but I have to tell than after submitting to the above mentioned directories, my feed count is doubled within a week….isnt tht worth some hours of submission duty??

Very good post. I agree submitting your site to Google, Yahoo, And Msn. Is a waste of time. There are a lot of easier ways to get indexed by these search engines. I can usually get my site indexed by google in a matter of hours by by using digg or other social networks.
