As you know, the posts are conformed by 3 parts: Title, Content and Comments. Specially, the title and the content are which makes a post more or less popular. When you are trying to get new readers, no matter if you are doing it through social media networks or through search engines, you have one chance to attract the reader’s attention. What is that thing which makes you click on a post when you are surfing by the web, The Title!
The title is the first impression of the post, and because of that, you need to learn how to write a title correctly. I have read several blogs with good content, but they are not read by many people due to the way the blogger writes the titles of his posts. This is really sad because they are working so hard to being read, but the people don’t come! May be they are looking the way to improve this, but they can’t notice that it’s all about the titles.

So to attract people to your posts, you need to write catchy titles. In the title, you need to give the people a hint, about what they will find once they click the link to your post. But it is not enough, because you can tell them a hint by writing anything there… For example, in this post I could write The Post’s Title, but If I did, probably you won’t be here reading this. You need to do it interesting or controversial, this way you will catch more readers just by reading the title of your post.
In addition to writing catchy titles, also you can write a question. Writing a question as the title of a post, you will make the readers feel that you are talking directly with them. So, it’s possible to get even more readers with interrogative titles, because it means that automatically they will comment in the post to share their opinion, making the post a little interactive and creating a discussion, which will give you several comments to moderate
.

Hey! my name is Javier but you can call me Javo, everybody does.
The post title can be one of the most important parts of any post.
Your title needs to be eye catching enough to make people want to read it.
When i go through my subscribed blogs in Google reader i skim the title and decide what to read.

I agree with you. The title is definitely one of the most important part of the post. Most of the time, people will only get to read the title and if the title is not catchy or attractive enough, then no matter how good the content is, no one will be reading it. At least for myself, I do look through the title to decide which one I want to read.

Not only a catchy title…..also the punctuation to go with it (!?…-) counts a lot.
Again I will say, catchy title is not so important….why???
I have gone through very dumbly written articles with catchy title and very very interesting articles with dumb titles.
I have also gone through articles…which say something and the title says something….and vice versa
So, personally I think catchy titles do not always work and catch the eyes of the readers.

Titles are key for me, because a lot of my traffic comes from forums that display your latest blog posts title.

@Sangeeta Well, in your case I think you got the traffic, but may be the people left your blog when they start reading the content, that’s a possibility… In the other case (bad title good content) you had luck
@Tom Great, I need to be more active in forums, certainly they can drive a lot of traffic…
Sometimes, I think that it’s all about luck. I have written posts with bad title, but I get traffic thought other websites because the content or keyworks, in the case of search engines…
Titles are very important indeed since it is the first thing the reader reads. It needs to be attention-grabbing, but also accurate in terms of its relation to the content. There are many who write great titles, but the content fall short or are simply unrelated. Readers may feel cheated when either of those scenarios happen.
So, what you said is really important, but it is also important to make sure that the post delivers what the title promises.
I find that puns are most commonly used for catchy titles for blogs and newspapers. Sometimes they can come off quite lame though, so you gotta be careful with these things.
I believe the title to be the most important part of a post. The reason is simple… if users don’t read the title, they can’t likely get to the post. The user almost assuredly has to the see the title and be intrigued by it, or they won’t likely follow the link to the post. If they don’t follow the link, the post is unread.
Now… once they get to the post, the title loses it’s importance in my mind, as then you have to deliver a post that meets the expectation the title set.
The title of your post is one of the most important elements. It plays a vital role in both a SEO aspect as well as in a marketing aspect.
Titles will ultimately be the thing that controls your posts keywords and slug for your URL as well as how people react to it. Exciting post titles will make people excited to read.

You only need to stop the readers and them read more. Of course, you should deliver your promise in the content, or they may not subscribe or do whatever you want them to do.

Yes Mr. Javo, title is a material which play with readers mind and bring them to post resource because what is in a post more than 80% we know by posts title and after if posting is also nice then sure visitor will come again like me.

Excellent reactions. Each one has a similar perspective of the same thing, the title of the post. Now, we can talk a while of affiliate marketing, stay tuned
In my opinion, the post title could make or break the content. It’s the first thing readers see but if the content does not deliver, any catchy title may backfire at the end.

Don’t forget to use the right keywords/tags. And if you attached an image to the post, make sure the filename is also related to the post.
That’s very important Pweng, because search engines looks for alt texts which normally you don’t see, but if you use the correct words your stuff will be find by google, yahoo etc etc…
I think an interesting image will draw the visitor to it, and then they will look at the title and content.
