Why To Use Post On Fire ?

January 24st, 2008

Written by Mr Javo

Do you know what’s post on fire? don’t be alarm, I met it just yesterday dropping e-cards. Post On Fire is a social network site for bloggers & blog readers, very similar to Sphinn, starting because the panel and categories are very similar.

It’s a free online community anyone can join. PostOnFire users discover & share the best blog posts on the net, including a voting system that put their readers in control of which blog posts should be in the front page. When a new link to a blog post is submitted, it will be added instantly to the “just submitted” section. When a blog post link in the “just submitted” section receives enough votes and less “extinguish”, it will move to the front page “hot posts”. “Extinguish” is a feature that let users report a link that is not worthy or it’s a spam. When a blog post link receives too much “extinguish”, it will be discarded.

Why may you use this community?

Why to use it? I don’t know you but I don’t found anything new on this network site, it is like digg, sphinn and others…The advantage you can get using this community is in the fact this one is very very young. It may has 1 or 2 weeks as older online, this mean you could be one of “bosses” if you start to use it from now  .

The posts on the hot list has just 3 votes!! and I was looking the network and I found some many bloggers registered on bigger communities like sphinn, mixx, digg…this mean you will not alone  , adding all them as friends you could ask them to vote for your posts on this new social network.

In my personal opinion I think is a good idea to join, this community is expanding quickly as I could see and being than young you have the opportunity to be one of top users, getting the most of votes and probably attracting more readers to your blog  .

Submit or vote quickly with their plugin for wordpress!. Join to Post On Fire and don’t forget to fire this post !

Using MyBlogLog To Expand Your Community

January 21st, 2008

Written by Mr Javo

Probably you’ve heard about MyBlogLog, a social media network part of the Yahoo Services, allowing you to meet other bloggers and their communities.

Why do you need MyBlogLog?

May be you are bored to join on every social media network over the web, but you don’t have choice, you may to join on every network you find out there  . MyBlogLog is one of biggest communities on internet enable you to track that last little bit of information about your website. You probably already know where your users are coming from and you probably already know what pages they’re looking at while they’re there. However, if you have a blog or any other site where you frequently post new content on the main page, you don’t have a good way of tracking what people find interesting. One way is to track when people click on the links you provide. Up until now, outbound link tracking has been a pain in the butt, requiring CGIs and managed links. MyBlogLog makes this process easy. But why do you need to know what people find interesting on your site? You can use it to tune your content to be even more compelling for your readers and to determine which stories you should follow up on.

Using MyBlogLog Effectively

Although MyBlogLog is not designed to build traffic to your site or to give you a community automatically, the most people with large communities have them either because their blog is popular and they advertise the community on their blog or because they message and talk with other MyBlogLog members and they join communities that are interesting to them and other members join their community as a result.

If your site is of interest to people, in the coming days you will see a number of people checking out your community, much like how people stumbled upon your blog in the early days. An effective way to attract some people to your community is adding them as friend when they visit your site and leaving a message in their profile just saying “thank you for….” that is very appreciated. You can do this looking the MyBlogLog gadget in your blog to see the latest MyBlogLog member visitors.

What’s The Benefit of Pro Stats?

MyBlogLog Pro gives you real-time stats and this is helpful to get real-time feedback on your links if you are a compulsive blogger  . If you don’t have a lot of traffic or simply you are not a compulsive blogger, the free version may be sufficient.

Additionally, MyBlogLog Pro gives you a longer list of “top links,” listing all of the links clicked on your site each day, which is useful if you have dozens of links. If you don’t have a lot of links the free version’s daily Top 10 links is probably fine for you.

You can purchase MyBlogLog Pro by a monthly subscription fee ($3/month) through PayPal and an annual fee ($25/year) by PayPal or Credit Card. The monthly fee will continue until you cancel the service. The annual fee must be renewed by you each year. You can upgrade your account to MyBlogLog Pro via the Edit Settings area of any of your blogs.

Sphinn ~ Internet Marketing Social Media

January 21st, 2008

Written by Mr Javo

Sphinn, pronounce it “spin”, is a social media network focused in the topic of Internet Marketing News. It’s designed to search and meet marketers, to allow you to share and discover news stories, read and take part in discussions, discover events of interest and network with others. It works very similar to digg, if you see a new story or discussion you like, you can vote for it using the blue Sphinn icon. Just click on the words “Sphinn It,” and you’ve cast your vote — the words will change to “Sphunn” to indicate that your Sphinn was registered. Voting — called Sphinning here — is also an easy way to keep track of stories for future reference, since everything you Sphinn for is automatically recorded within your profile. Want to know more about a story? Click on the number in the icon, and you can see a full description about it plus any comments.

The topics are either news stories that have been submitted or discussions that have been started by Sphinn members. To view topics, select the “Topics” tab at the top of Sphinn pages. By default, you’ll see Hot Topics, but you can switch to What’s New view. More about these views:

  • Hot Topics : These are the most popular topics as voted by Sphinn members over the past three days. If you want, just the “Sort items by” links on the right-hand side of a Hot Topics page to narrow Hot Topics to today, yesterday, the current week or for the entire month.
  • What’s New: These are topics recently submitted by Sphinn members. Like one of them? Click on the Sphinn button to vote for it. Topics that get enough Sphinns can move to Hot Topics.
  • Greatest Hits: These are all topics submitted to Sphinn over time, listed in order of how popular they are.

You can also find those and more topics by categories, you’ll see categories listed in the top of Sphinn’s pages, such as “Yahoo” or “Searching.” Select a category to narrow topics to just those areas. Each category also has subcategories, allowing you to focus even further.

And as every social media network, in Sphinn you will find a Network section. The Network page is where you can search for people in addition to finding them through news stories and discussions. When you find someone, you can establish a relationship with them, you can have one of three relationships with other members. These are:

  • People You’re Stalking (Stalkees): See someone doing something interesting and want to keep track of them? Stalk them! Why bother? For one, it lets you send private messages to them, handy if they don’t publish their regular email. For another, they’ll see you’re stalking them — which is a first step to them possibly making you a friend.
  • Stalkers: These are people who find you interesting. It’s a one-way relationship, at this point. But you have the option to make it two-way. Use the “add as friend” option listed for any stalker to transform them into a friend.
  • Friends: These are people who you’ve either stalked and he/she decided to make you a friend, or who were stalking you and you decided to make a friend. In the future, we plan special ways for you to share things with your friends. For now, just feel good that you can have some. Go make some!

Tools & Toys

This is a community specially focused on bloggers, and thats why they have a series of tools for all us!. In the tools page you will find some tools very useful to you, no matter what platform you use. Those are the tools provided by Sphinn to your blog:

  • Sphinn Live!
  • Sphinn: Submit Via Bookmark.
  • Sphinn Button For Your Site.
  • Sphinn Custom Buttons For Any Blog.
  • Sphinn Buttons Especially For Wordpress.
  • Sphinn Buttons Especially For FeedBurner.
  • Sphinn For Facebook.
  • Sphinn For Macs.

Sphinn is a good social media network, and its better if you blog about the Internet Marketing niche. In addition, this community is very young, that means you don’t need to have thousands of sphinns to get listed in the Hot Topics list, just with ~50 sphinns is enough to be the first in this list, something impossible in digg.

If you are not in Sphinn you can join here!

Using Social Media Networks

January 13st, 2008

Written by Mr Javo

What’s Social Media Networks ?

The Social Media Networks are a great tool for all us, the bloggers. With them, news, blog posts, photos, videos, and podcasts are made public via social media websites through submission. Thus networks are big communities online, normally accompanied with a voting process to make media items become “popular” and be shown on the popular or hot list.

The Importance Of Social Media Networks

You should know in the blogging world, be referred on other sites is the key to expand your blog and attract more readers. And what’s better than social media networks? All them are really important to get new readers because their system makes easy the promotion task, showing your link for everywhere and letting to the people rate your post/blog.

All thus latest days I was joining to many networks, the next is a list with some of them:

When someone give you a digg, a stumble or tagged you, your respective post will be show in their social media profile as a recent activity. Everybody who check their profile, will see your post and the reviews about it, and there is good possibility that visit your post. But how can you get this points, reviews or comments? very simple, you need to start to add people to your profile, look for who has a good mount of friends and review their profile. Giving good reviews about their posts and commenting on other profiles will help you to make tons of friends and you will start to attract them, getting their attention and get tons of traffic by there. Yesterday, Tal Siach from www.walyou.com stumble my post Introducing OIOpublisher Pluging For Wordpress and I got a dramatical increase over my traffic, see the graphic:

As you can see, on my first days I was getting ~100 visitors by day, and you can see how my traffic exploded from ~150 to almost 300 visitors yesterday! and that was with a simple stumble, imagine if you get many stumbles, diggs and reddits everyday…that is to get 5000+ visitors by day ! think about it.

Social Media Advantages

  • Cost: you need to pay for nothing, all those stuff is free!.
  • Improve Traffic: get tons of visitors by day, getting more readers and expanding your network exponentially.
  • Make Friends: make new friends and partnership. This will help you to future actions/deals.
  • Share Your Media: your media will be public shared: posts, photos, blogs and everything you want.
  • Discover: discover interesting sites with the big directory.

Disadvantages? I don’t think so !!!

Moral: Using social media networks you can easily share your media with people around the world. Those networks are perfect to get a viral traffic, being linked in too many different profiles, you can explode your traffic in few days, you noticed it, the changes are instantly  .
