Had The Blogs Taken The Web?

Written by Mr. Javo

PJN July Promo

Nowadays, the blogs are one of the bigger sources of information on Internet. There are many facilities that services like Wordpress, Blogger and Typepad provides, giving all the basic resources to create and manage a blog, for free. Due to this, many people over the Internet have given themselves the opportunity to create a blog and experience its managing, writing about their hobbies, day to day activities or whatever their want. Now, the question is: why the blogs became so popular?

What Make Them So Attractive?

blog keysYou never asked you this question? Me neither, until now. The blog is a great way to communicate many things such information, experiences and news. Many people who use their blog to write about their daily experiences, commonly do it to share all that information with their family and friends, without monetary aims, just for fun. Other people use their blog to share tutorials, giving away all their knowledge. The reasons can be many, they can feel good just doing it, others do it because their content is limited on Internet, or just because they are getting paid.

In any case, the reason why the blogs are so attractive is because they are readily accessible. Being on Internet there are several opportunities, because it can be consulted by everybody whenever they want, from any place of the world. This propriety of popularity is what has made the blogs so attractive for everybody. In addition of that, the opportunity to edit your blog easily by writing new posts and keep informed to the people who read your content.

Their Presence On Internet

Wherever you look, there is a blog. If you type anything on Google, whatever the topic, at least a half of the results will be linked to a blog. It seems like the blog became more easy to create and edit than a standard website. If you check a company’s website, you will see that they will have a section reserved to their blog, where they announce their latest products or offers.

Of the way in the blogs were established on the Web, they caused the birth of communities which offer all the support the blogs need. Communities like BlogCatalog can provide you thousand of blogs related to any topic. Something curious that I noticed is that all the communities are getting connected with the others, for example if you are a BlogCatalog or MyBlogLog user, now you can see the activities of your friends on the others networks like StumbleUpon, Digg, Twitter and more.

Something amazing is happening there. If you noticed it, everything is getting connected, even more than ever. When it happens, the blogs will be the most popular method of socializing on the web, altogether with the social media networks.

Is Twitter Being Correctly Used?

Written by Mr. Javo

First of all, if you don’t know what twitter is, let me give you an introduction. Twitter is a service for friends, family, and coworkers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?

It was created because even basic updates are meaningful to family members, friends, or colleagues, especially when they’re timely. Basically, with Twitter you can stay hyper-connected to your friends and always know what they’re doing. So what is thtwittere point of this post?

The Correct Use of Twitter

Recently I have seen how the most of people are using Twitter, and I think their use is incorrect. I’m going to tell you why, and also some of the correct uses of twitter. These are:

  • Making New Friends
  • Using it as a ToDo list
  • Notifying Your Customers
  • Taking Notes
  • Event Updates
  • Setting Up Meetings
  • Getting Feedbacks about your Blog
  • Anything else like the above

As you may or may not know, you can configure your cellphone to receive text messages when someone updates their status on twitter. This way, you can stay in tune with your friends, coworkers or family.

The Incorrect Uses of Twitter

A lot of people are using Twitter simply as a tool to SPAM. I can understand that a blogger sends messages to twitter saying “I updated my blog, check the latest post and give me your feedback”. It is reasonable that a blogger wants to promote their posts and hear the opinions of their readers. But what happen when the same people overflow the limits of the “promotion” and become spammers?

Daily, I receive several messages with an single purpose, to spam!!. I will tell you why they are using twitter incorrectly:

  • They are only tweeting links: is not enough to them sending messages to get a feedback of their posts, in addition they send you the link of them. This is sad, if I would want to read your posts, I could subscribe me to your RSS but there are not need to spam every single post which you write on your blog.
  • They Flood the system: At twitter you can see all your messages at your home. Sometimes, I can see successively, multiples messages from the same user. That has only a name: SPAM.
  • They are using Bots: because of how they behave on the system, I could noticed that some of the people who I’m following are bots. They always begin a message with the same greeting, or end it with same quote.

Why the people think that they can use Twitter as a traffic generator? At the most twitter can be classify it as social network. If you want to get traffic just use traffic swarm, link referral or services like these. Please stop spamming. There are people who use these bots to automate their feed to post everything they have wrote on their blogs.

As marketers, many people want to promote their product or service, it is a reasonable desire. The problem is that they don’t care about their followers, and they don’t care about personalizing the message. They are sending a generic messages to each of their followers  .

The Conclusion

However, you can stop following these people . The thing is that everyday, more and more people are using twitter to spam their links, and not with the purpose for which it was made. This must to be resolved! I think that the administrators of Twitter should start to track those people spam and ban their accounts! .

Seriously, I’m thinking about closing my twitter account, what do you think about it? I have removed like 20 persons/bots from my twitter, know I’m better with the service   . If you want to follow me, this is my profile.

I’m Banned From Digg

Written by Mr. Javo

The latest days I received many complaints respect my post about the importance of pinging for bloggers. I don’t know why, it is a good post, it has 4 stars of rating, 6 reviews on SU and 126 diggs.

The stumbleupon reviews are just good, are from people thanking me for this good tip, but for a reason the people from digg thinks different about it. Instead, I received bad comments reporting me as spammer :???: :???: . I don’t understand how this post can be a blog spam, can you explain me? I really don’t understand…

The worst is that they plus of writing bad comments, reported me as spammer and guess what? Digg banned my url!! why some people can let others be successful ? now nobody can submit my posts on digg  .

Mr. Javo dot Com is banned from digg

I was checking the Digg’s FAQ and I found this:

Spam is very subjective. Many times, the spammer honestly doesn’t think they are spammers, so we generally leave that up to the Digg community to decide with the report/bury feature. We may delete users who blatantly and consistently submit obvious spam. Additionally, comment spam is against our TOS and will result in an account ban or deletion, depending on the severity. Submission spamming is different because it may be quality content but the submitter is “spamming” every story from their blog/site. While we welcome users to submit their own content, overdoing it often incites the users to mark the user as a spammer, the site as a spam site, and otherwise decent content as blogspam. We recommend considering this before you engage in this activity. Remember, if domains are consistently buried and reported as spam, the site may be banned.

Ok It’s truth that I was digging my posts, but not all them, just the bests. I guess they banned me for that, but I think they are wrong ( forget the first line of the last paragraph  ). I sent them a email but I’m still waiting the reply  .

Yeap! I’m banned but I think that it’s for a time, anyone knows how long this time is, or it’s forever? and just now I was being successful in digg, I think that I’ll have to use other networks…

The new Recent Visitors widget is pretty good, based on a web 2.0 style now you can easily add people as friend, by placing the mouse over the widget you can see a little window with the main information about that user. Also you can join to a community and see how many members it has.

Now, they changed everything!! see how your profile looks now:

BlogCatalog Goes Totally Social And Absolutely Viral

Written by Mr. Javo

Yesterday I received an email from BlogCatalog notifying me about a new idea that they had. What would you happen if your newest post was Dugg and all your friends at BlogCatalog knew about it? And then what would happen if they Dugg it too, letting all of their friends know it. That would be pretty powerful, right?

Well in the next couple of days, BlogCatalog will launch Social Dashboard beta, a new feature that displays your latest activities across many social networks — Digg, Flickr, Last.fm, Twitter, YouTube, and many others  . That means automatic cross-networking and promotion right from your personal profile page. It also means that the your post updates, Twitter comments, Digg submissions, and other activities will appear on the Social Dashboard of all your BlogCatalog friends, and maybe their friends too. This is the kind of networking that can make posts go viral. And that’s just for starters.

Their Dashboard will help you keep up on the activities of your friends. It’s almost like having the ultimate social network feed reader made up of your friends, it’s absolutely awesome don’t you think?? It will help you streamline networking and stay up to date with friends across the Web. When they upload a new Flickr photo or submit a new article to Digg, you will know and you can then share it with your friends.

Use it promote your activities. Use it to keep up on friends.

They also think Social Dashboard will strengthen the BlogCatalog community for you. It helps make profile pages much more dynamic, giving people a reason to visit them again and again. I was waiting something like this since too many time ago, now we can share all our network links across the web in a single place   .
