My First Impression About SocialSpark

Written by Mr. Javo

Hello people, as you may know I signed up to SocialSpark some weeks ago and since then, I have been testing this new service/community.

The last week when I posted about this community, I don’t knew it at all, and I skipped some good points which I want to mention this time. I’m talking about the types of marketplace opportunities you have, by signing up as blogger:

  1. Sponsored Post: In the Sponsored Post Opportunity, you will create a unique sponsored post on your blog, based on the guidance the advertiser provides. The advertiser can choose to have each blogger include an image, video or press release along with the blogger’s own text, basically you need to meet the terms. The advertiser will pay per unique blog post that is created on each unique blog.
  2. Blog Sponsorship: Blog sponsorships are a way which the advertisers promote their website or blog, by utilizing SocialSpark’s unique technology to create a persistent sponsorship banner on blogs. Sponsorships can consist of texts, images or videos. The advertiser pays per day that a select blog runs the Blog Sponsorship. I could notice the advertisers pay between $0.5 and $1.5 a day.
  3. blogyoubackSparks: Sparks are free opportunities that serve as ideas for blog posts. Sparks are utilized primarily by bloggers, but may also be used by advertisers. These “Sparks” are a great way to start making post if you are new on the blogging business. Also, many bloggers create sparks to get reviews, by offering to blog about you on their blogs. This offer is called BlogYouBack™.

So as you can see, there are many ways to earn some bucks with this community. And talking about Marketplace, I want to talk you about the Code of Ethics.

What is this code?

  • 100% Audit-able In-Post Disclosure: This post is a perfect example to explain this point. Why? because I posted about socialspark the last week. By getting paid for blogging about a certain topic, even if you would have written about that topic anyway, you run the risk of giving the impression of a conflict of interest. That is the reason they give you a code which set a small box in your post, to let your readers know you are getting paid for that content.
  • 100% Transparency: I love this, because you can know who is working and who’s not. Every single profile, as advertiser or blogger, is public to every person in the community, and if you visit my blogger profile for example, you could see that I’m working with IZEA with this opportunity. There is not secrets!.
  • 100% Real Opinions: At SocialSpark, there is not restrictions when you are going to post. I’m referring to the opinions, if you dislike a service, you can write it, and if you love it too! SocialSpark has no restrictions on how you express your genuine thoughts on an advertiser’s product or service.
  • 100% Search Engine Friendly: As you may know, Google was penalizing bloggers who used PayPerPost. SocialSpark set all your sponsored links with the attribute no-follow, so they are not affecting the search engine’s ranking. This is designed to protect bloggers and advertisers from search engine penalties based on paid linking.

See my public Blogger Profile

I have to say I got some opportunities, and all them has being approved very quick. The only thing I don’t like at all, is the fact you need to write about the opportunity in the next 12 hours after you reserved the opportunity. Is kinda forced!!! :evil:

Anyways, they are very conscious because they asked me to resubmit a post without showing advertising on it. This goes against their policy, so I removed the Kontera content links to resubmit my post, which was approved without problems… They could reject my post by they didn’t, they just contact me and noticed me about the issue, letting me to resubmit the post once again.

So If you are not part of this community, I recommend you to join right know. Really worth to be there!

Introducing SocialSpark

Written by Mr. Javo

Some weeks ago, I was invited to use this new service in its alpha phase. SocialSpark is a new service of the IZEA’s people, who we know because of services like PayPerPost or RealRank, but what they are offering with this service? Let’s find it out.

SocialSpark, with the tagline “Get Everyone Talking”, is a new service very similar to payperpost because you can make money by blogging about opportunities, created by advertisers. But it has the difference that it is more social, you can interact with all the members, adding them as your friends, voting for posts, recommending a blogger and another interesting features that I will let you to explore.

socialspark

This is a little screenshot of the main panel, where you can find the most popular opportunities, feature posts and other things.

As you can see, SocialSpark is a kind of blogging community, where you can make friends at the same time you can make money by writing about those opportunities. The best thing is that by this way, you can meet potential partners to work with, because you can “Prop” the users, which is the new way of giving someone your vote of confidence or high rating. You have the choice, in many areas, to offer a “prop” or “drop” to other users, opportunities, blogs, etc. Basically, a prop is a positive vote, and a drop a negative one. And how these props will help you to find potential partners? Simple, because you can search members by filtering their information, as number of props, views and friends, which could let you to determine who is an active blogger, and who is not.

Also, beside to searching members, you can search blogs by average pageviews a month, real rank, blog props, and other factors which let you to know, as in the case of users, which are the active or inactive blogs.

Conclusion

SocialSpark seems like a great place to be, I have made a couple of friends through this way and taken a couple of opportunities. The only question I have is about the payments. I don’t know how I’m going to be paid, because they never asked me anything related to that. Effectively, the payments are made through paypal, as they does at PayPerPost. However don’t wait more and join to this social network, which also brings you the chance to make some money!

Should You Sell Your Blog?

Written by Mr. Javo

Hey there, today I read something that I never expected. One of big popular bloggers aka “John Cow” is selling him blog! What do you think about it?

I think a blog is unique, because it depends of a personality. You could like to read a blog just for the funny comments the author does, or for the way he say the things. However, this is unique! and the new owner will not be the same, although he work under the same nick name.

Once you sell your blog, it will still alive. The people will still reading it, but it will be not the same. At least, the subscribers, or the people who follow a blogger daily, feel him as a friend. Once you leave them, they will not want to go back to the blog.

That is my opinion, but you don’t need to follow it if you are not agree. Let’s check why John Cow is selling him blog:

cow for sale

This dude is moving, from Europe to Australia, and he will be busy finding a place to live. As he arguments, he will be very busy doing this, and it is reasonable. Cow is a very persistent blogger, I followed him. But as he says, he will not have time to attend him online business, so he prefer to leave it.

It is a good reason but Cow, if I were you, I would not sell it. Instead, I would hire many guest bloggers, to keep my blog updated for a couple of weeks, may be months. He is a popular blogger, he has many subscribers and people who would like to post on him blog. Also, he can find help with bloggers like Darren, Chow or ME! (I’m a guest blogger already :cool:).

these are the statistics of JohnCow.com

The stats:

* PageRank 3
* Alexa 22,100
* Compete 41,020
* Technorati 1696, Authority 1457
* 382 Posts
* 13,417 Comments
* 47,412 Backlinks (Yahoo!)
* 2,830 indexed pages (Google)
* Average of 40K uniques per month (without social media)

This guy made a great work with him blog, I don’t understand why are he leaving it… However, it is him choice.

The blog price is 25K~50K dollars. He get about $2500 per month, so if you buy it, you could get your money back very quick… So do you want to buy JohnCow.com? Contact him! and say to him that you read about the sale in my blog :grin: (by doing this, I could get 5% of the sale).

Happy Weekend!

Spreading Ideas

Written by Mr. Javo

Daily, thousand blogs are created and added to search engines, thought there are another thousand people who want to create a blog or website, but they don’t have idea about the niche they want to blog. I recommend to all these people to visit Vivid Lamp.

What Vivid Lamp Offer?

Vivid Lamp is a blog that offers help to find, promote and create ideas. Website creation, ideas and niche discovery related to marketing, are the topics covered by Simon at his blog.

There you can find a very useful free tool called Niche Warehouse. The idea behind this tool is to attempt to simplify the process of finding long tail keywords and to speed up the filtering out of poorly performing niche phrases specifically in Google.

What are these long tail keywords? These keywords are an expansion of a core keyword. Many people use them attempting to rank higher in search engines because people usually don’t use them. By using them, you have a better chance of ranking high when people use a search engine such as Google due to less competition.

VivdLamp ~ Spreading Ideas

The Ideas

In the section of ideas, you could find great video posts, which can help you open your mind to new concepts. The best video I could find there, talk about Secrets Of Success, where the success is explained in 8 simple words: Passion, Work, Good, Focus, Push, Serve, Ideas and Persist.

Definitively, Vivid Lamp is a blog that worth to read, specially if you want to create a project, and innovate with it. Using the tool called Niche Warehouse, you can optimize your existing website or guide you with finding a new niche. To optimize your searching, you could combine that tool with the resources provided on the posts related to Niche Discovery.

My First Impressions About Wordpress 2.5

Written by Mr. Javo

Yesterday in the morning, I upgraded my wordpress from 2.3.3 to the new Wordpress 2.5. Easy as the preview Wordpress’s versions, I finished to upgrade my WP in a couple of minutes. To enter the admin panel, I had to update my database with a simple click.

I thought to write this post yesterday, but I wait another day to test the new platform and give you my report:

The Sections

The main change is the new structure of the wordpress panel. It is very cleanest, easy to navigate and beautiful than the preview version. The new dashboard is not so far to the preview version, though it is more organized, those boxes make easiest to check the recent backlinks, the comments, the statistics and everything you have there.

Also I like how you can jump between different sections through the Related links. You can see this box in every section of the new panel.

About the widgets, I think the old way to place them on the sidebar was a little more easy. They implemented 1-click to add the widgets, which is easiest than Drag and drop. But to remove a widget, you need to click Edit>Remove. Two clicks vs One Drag and Drop, D&D wins. However, still being very easy to place widgets on the sidebar.

The Writing Experience

There are new features which really improve the writing experience. Now, you can write in fullscreen, something good that help you to concentrate and don’t lose the focus on what you are writing about. Something interesting is that now you can add media as images, videos and audio, uploading them from your pc.

There are more technical features, but I will let you to discover them by yourself, upgrade to Wordpress 2.5 now!

Making Money With Social Networks

Written by Mr. Javo

As you know, Social Networks are a powerful tool to expand your brand. Besides to make friends and share the content you like, social networks are being used to promote many Internet businesses. This month, someone of my network has been attracting my attention due to his dedication.

Don’t forget this face, he could be the next millionaire entrepreneur.

Patrick Hankinson

His name is Patrick Hankinson. With only 20 years old, he is making thousand dollars with his website, with the help of social networks.

The Social Millionaire

In these times, many Internet entrepreneurs present old and overloaded ideas, but not this one. At The Social Millionaire, Patrick presents a new business idea, combining the keywords with the social networks. His website connects consumers from all the major social networks to advertisers who want to reach this audience by keywords. Basically, he drive all the traffic he gets through the social networks, to the advertiser’s websites.

The Keywords

keywords

The keyword’s price starts on $5, but you can buy them for any higher price. The more you pay, the more visibility you’ll have in his website. Also, the advertiser who pays the highest price for a certain keyword, will appear the highest. If two advertisers bid under the same keyword for the same price, the advertiser who bought first will appear higher. There are several keywords there, and all them of advertisers who wants to promote their services through keywords, including me. As you can see, the system is very simple.

The Power Of Social Networks

Patrick uses the major social networks to promote his service. Myspace, Facebook and Twitter, are some of the networks where you can find him. Is very interesting how he has promoted his service, let’s take a look in the Alexa statistics:

With thousand daily visits in the first month, The Social Millionaire has a rank of 177k over million sites. In the chart, you can see all these peaks product of the social networks and all the reviews purchased by him.

Personally, I think that Patrick really knows what he is doing. Checking a review made on March 8th, I could noticed the number of friends and sales has increased considerably. In just 19 days, he increased his statistics from 122 friends and $106.5 on sales, to 354 friends and $2522.36 on sales! And I’m sure that this guy will continue increasing his traffic, friends, rank and sales in the next months.

As well as promote your brand, buying keywords in this site you will get a backlink. With the elimination of the Nofollow attribute, you will get a backlink, helping you to improve your rank in the major search engines like Google and Yahoo.

Are you still reading this? You should be buying keywords at The Social Millionaire! :twisted:
