Hello readers! Today I’m introducing a new section on my blog, I called it Ask to Mr. Javo.

What is the purpose of this section?

Recently, I have noticed that many people have been asking me information, about a specific service or product. Others, have been suggesting that I post topics. All of these people, have been doing this through comments on my posts, instead of using the contact form. All of the people have the same interest: they want me to write a post, to give them detailed information about a topic.

Activity of this manner has increased during the past few days days, and it gave me an idea. I thought of a kind of page, where my visitors could ask me whatever they need to know about. Something like a guestbook where my visitors could send me a question, public for anyone, and I could reply them with a post!.

So the purpose of this section is to hear all those voices that need a light to orient them in a determinate topic. This mean that I will write a post replying all their wants, You Ask and I Respond. That is the point of the section .

We all win

Before create this section, I thought in all the pros and cons of it. Really, I could not find any cons . Instead, I found this section very useful for all us. This is because of two reasons:

1. You give me topics to write about.
2. I give you the information that you need.

After reading the above and analyzing it for a while, I said “why not!?” And this is how this section was born.

So, if you have any question or doubt about a topic, why don’t you ask me? I will write a post for you in return .

PS: This section is strictly to ask me for a post. Before writing in this section, be sure that I had not written about the topic that you wish. If you have any questions about something that has already been written, please comment in the respective post.

Hey bloggers, yesterday I was with some friends and one of them started to ask me about my blog. I explained him what I do in my blog, giving to him a little idea about this big world called blogosphere. He surprised very much about what I do here , asking me who read my blog and how can I measure the success of it. That is a very good question… There are many factors that help you to measure your blog’s success giving you the hint if it’s good or bad.

This post attempts to provide how you can measure your blog’s success taking advantage of its statistics combined with its reader’s interaction.

How many people are reading your content?

Something very important in this career, is to know how many people are reading your content, and take advantages of these numbers. Using webmaster analyzers you can know this kind of statistics, knowing the exactly amount of people who visit your site daily. A good way to increase this number is using social media networks, those normally gives tons of traffic.

Amount of subscribers

This is may be the most obvious factor. Many people think that you can measure a blog’s success just looking its subscriber’s counter but really, it’s more than that. It’s truth that you can get an idea about how successful a blog is just seeing the amount of subscribers, but you can assure nothing. I going to give you a example, what about a blog with 3 years of age and only 1000 subscribers ? if you don’t know the blog, seeing 1000 readers you can think that it’s awesome but may be it’s not really. But if you take a look on Jonh Cow for example, when his blog has about 5 months of age, it had about 700 subscribers and now it has thousand of subscribers.

Moral: The number of subscribers is important, but you need to consider the time in which you obtained your subscribers.

Comments per post

The next important factor is the number of comments on your blog. The number of comments per post gives you a idea about the quality of your blog, if it’s good it will create a atmosphere of discussion between you and your visitors. Answering your reader’s questions and paying attention to their critiques you will improve you relation with them, creating in your blog a nice place to stay.

Your achievements in social networks

All the achievements you obtain in the social networks it’s very related to your blog’s success. Using this kind of networks ( digg, stumbleupon, blogcatalog …. ) you will start to make contact with other bloggers, you will start to attract their attention and they will start to visit your blog over and over again looking for new content… Doing a good role in all those social networks, you will promote your blog, make friends and gain new readers, all at the same time, definitively exploding your traffic.

Backlinks

The backlinks or links which point back to your blog are a good indicative of how popular is your blog. While more backlinks you have more traffic you will get, and traffic on the blogosphere is synonymous of success . You can get backlinks by commenting on blogs with dofollow, discussing in communities or forums, exchanging links with other bloggers for blogrolling etc etc… You can learn more about how to get backlinks in this post.

To finish, you may know that first that you can measure a success, you need to set goals. Don’t public them if you don’t want, but you need to set goals weekly or monthly. This way you will always have a goal to reach, applying effort and dedication every time to reach them.

You should check all this aspects and ask you questions like: how many people are reading my blog? I’m being amiable with them? I’m participating sufficiently in social communities?…answering all those kind of questions you can determinate if you are getting success with your blog or not, and if you think that you need to focus in a determinate task, go ahead, set your priorities and don’t worry about that, everybody neglects something in the life.

The latest days I received many complaints respect my post about the importance of pinging for bloggers. I don’t know why, it is a good post, it has 4 stars of rating, 6 reviews on SU and 126 diggs.

The stumbleupon reviews are just good, are from people thanking me for this good tip, but for a reason the people from digg thinks different about it. Instead, I received bad comments reporting me as spammer . I don’t understand how this post can be a blog spam, can you explain me? I really don’t understand…

The worst is that they plus of writing bad comments, reported me as spammer and guess what? Digg banned my url!! why some people can let others be successful ? now nobody can submit my posts on digg .

I was checking the Digg’s FAQ and I found this:

Spam is very subjective. Many times, the spammer honestly doesn’t think they are spammers, so we generally leave that up to the Digg community to decide with the report/bury feature. We may delete users who blatantly and consistently submit obvious spam. Additionally, comment spam is against our TOS and will result in an account ban or deletion, depending on the severity. Submission spamming is different because it may be quality content but the submitter is “spamming” every story from their blog/site. While we welcome users to submit their own content, overdoing it often incites the users to mark the user as a spammer, the site as a spam site, and otherwise decent content as blogspam. We recommend considering this before you engage in this activity. Remember, if domains are consistently buried and reported as spam, the site may be banned.

Ok It’s truth that I was digging my posts, but not all them, just the bests. I guess they banned me for that, but I think they are wrong ( forget the first line of the last paragraph ). I sent them a email but I’m still waiting the reply .

Yeap! I’m banned but I think that it’s for a time, anyone knows how long this time is, or it’s forever? and just now I was being successful in digg, I think that I’ll have to use other networks…
