This is a guest post from AffiliateTips.com – an affiliate directory where you can find and compare affiliate programs.

It sometimes happens that ones affiliate marketing business gets stuck in a rut regardless of the efforts one put in it. When sales remain stagnant even though you put in some hard work it might be time to try and to improve your marketing strategies. What’s so great about affiliate marketing is that one doesn’t have to restructure the strategies from the ground up when trying to breathe some life into the business.

Blogging is one of the best tools to refresh your promotional methods. Reaching new customers will become easier and it can dramatically increase the profits. Add this simple tool and your business might once again have a bright future.

Blogging When Working with Affiliate Marketing

Blogging is not only for personal thoughts, far from it. Blogs can be found covering every possible subject and some of the most popular blogs are information powerhouses that are designed to meet the needs of their audience. Regardless of what segment in the affiliate business that you are working in a blog can strengthen the power of your company brand, maintain a high customer loyalty and attract new readers.

Including a blog in your affiliate marketing business can for example get you a higher rank on search engines (Search Engine Optimization), increase your online visibility and organic search traffic. As mentioned it’s also a great way of achieving good customer loyalty and to promote new offers.

What the above mentioned benefits will mean for you is increased traffic to your affiliate marketing site. An average blog post is very brief and packed with keywords that will get you a high rank on the search engines. So, when web surfers search for information on your topic they’ll encounter your blog.

Blogging Strategies for Affiliate Marketing

In order to get the most out of your affiliate marketing blog you’ll have to assess both your needs and the needs of your visitors. As with all marketing strategies, planning is of great importance and to make it easier for you, I have created some important steps to take into consideration.

1. Who is Your Audience?

If you want to create an appealing blog you’ll have to understand your audience and what they are looking for. Conduct some simple marketing research and have a look at your website statistics – this way you’ll learn a whole lot more about your customers.

2. Placing of Your Blog

Most blogs should be placed on your site but if you lack the ability or resources for this then you could consider an outside hosting service. Don’t forget to use a domain name that is somehow related to your affiliate marketing business.

3. Keywords When Blogging

If you want to get a high rank on search engines you’ll have to consider keywords. For each blog post you should choose a keyword that should be used in a natural way throughout the blog and it should also be used in your headline, URL and page title.

Regardless if you’re running an old or new affiliate marketing business a blog might just be the injection it needs in order to be really successful. Have a look at this simple and easy to use tool.

When Should You Monetize Your Blog?

July 29th, 2008

Written by Mr Javo

I have noticed over the web that there are many young blogs with several advertising areas in their sidebars. And I want to say with “young blogs” that they have 3 months (or even less) of age. There are people who has read my blog and they imagine that they can create a blog and minutes then, they will be selling some banners… If you are one of these people who tried that, may be you failed in your attempt, but don’t feel bad because with this post, you will learn some basic things which will help you to know when is the best time to monetize your blog and start making money with it.

The very first thing you need to know is that you cannot monetize your blog from the beginning. When you start a blog, you are like a little child who just been born. Nobody knows you, so first at all you need to gain the people’s trust and build a good readership. So then, you could start to monetize your blog with any kind of programs you can find in my money makers Section. It’s annoying when you visit a very young blog and you can hardly read it because it’s full of advertising like Google Adsense, Bidvertiser, Kontera, Private Sales… Avoid to have this behavior

Sometimes, our blogs have a big rush of traffic from StumbleUpon, Mixx, another social network or just through search engines. This kind of moments are perfect opportunities to monetize your blog and promote your private sales. By adding some areas where the people could advertise on your blog (like 125×125 pixels banners) and taking advantage of the traffic driven from external links, you could start selling your own stuff easily without problems.

So I recommend you to monetize your blog once you have established your brand and imposed your authority on Internet. When many people recognize you with your logo, that means that you had shocked them, giving you the signal to start monetizing your blog. But how can you know when you had imposed your brand? Well, when the people start requesting your friendship in social media networks, when they leave several comments on your blog, when they follow you through other blogs… That’s an indicative of that!

I think that once you have some months in the business with at least 100 subscribers, it’s a good time to monetize your blog and start making money with it, what do you think? I invite you to leave your comments

Scour: Get Paid For Searching

July 24th, 2008

Written by Mr Javo

Do you ever thought to have your favorite search engines in the same platform? Well, yesterday I was invited to use Scour, a system which merge Google, Yahoo and MSN search engines, bringing you all of their power together into the same website. When you use Scour search engine, those three engines are searched all at once, and the results will be shown on the same page.

How It Works

The Scour member is able to vote each listing up or down, based on the relevance of the keywords used by you. Also, you are able to write comments reviewing the listed sites. By blending users’ feedback, the Scour Team improve the search algorithms, improving the search and giving relevant results for your keywords.

With the Scour voting and comment system, their goal is to introduce the human element of searching allowing you and all other Scour members to speak up and help shape the results with every search. So if you see a result that doesn’t match with your search, vote it down! And in the other case, if you see a site that is exactly what you wanted, vote it up and leave a comment expressing why you liked it. After enough votes, the listings will move down in rank, placing the relevant ones where they should be, at the top! When using Scour you can read user reviews about websites based on your keyword taking a lot of the guesswork out of searching and getting to you destination quicker.

The Motivation

Did you know that search engines make billions of dollars a year in advertising revenue? Would be great if the users could get a piece of that… Well, with Scour you can earn Points which you can change for Visa Gift Cards!

Every member is awarded one point for every search, two points for a vote and three points for a comment with a maximum of 4 points a search. Also, they offer referral points for the friends you introduce to Scour where you can earn 25% of the points they make.

What about the point conversions?

  • With 6,500 Points you get a $25 Visa gift card.
  • With 12,500 Points you get a $50 Visa gift card.
  • With 25,000 Points you get a $100 Visa gift card.

It’s more than everybody currently make from searching, and if you invited 25 friends that used scour regularly in addition to yourself, that’s an easy $125 in your pocket for a year of what you already do! Also they have a calculator which you can check out how much you could earn.

It seems like merging social media with search engines it’s the new sensation on Internet, but will this work? If you can earn something for each search you make, why not? I mean, we have nothing to lose.

What are you waiting for? Join to Scour now and start earning points!

Google And Digg’s Deal, Truth Or Myth?

July 24th, 2008

Written by Mr Javo

Hello bloggers, more than a rumor, it is a fact that Google want to buy Digg. After some negotiation rounds, Google is willing to buy Digg by $200 million, that is a low amount if we compare it with the Youtube’s Deal, which was acquired by Google two years ago by $1,650 million.

The Reason Of This Deal

Digg, is a place for people to discover and share content from anywhere on the web. From the biggest online destinations to the most obscure blog, Digg surfaces the best stuff as voted on by our users. Aside the money, one of the rumored reasons about why Digg want to have this deal with The Big G is because the maintenance costs are superior than the advertisement’s gain, being so hard to maintain.

Google is very interested in Digg for some reasons. They want to integrate the voting system with their search engine algorithm, which you will be able to vote and add comments to a specific website directly from Google. Because of that, the Google’s Search Algorithm will be improved with all the Digg’s Data, which will help to Google’s search engine to give you relevant and precise results for your searches. In the other side, the Digg’s voting system seems to be improved with the Google’s Data, improving the Digg’s algorithm to rank the published links.

As you can see, this deal will merge the social media with the search engine system. I think that it’s a great way to improve the Internet, because now we will see relevant results in our searches. But this means that if our pages or blogs are not Dugg they will be hard to found? I don’t know, what do you think about it, will this deal , improve or not the web?

Exposure Contest’s Winners!

July 20th, 2008

Written by Mr Javo

The Exposure Contest was announced on July 6st. From that date, I was publishing through my RSS feed 10 letters of a word, without order. The objective of this contest was to guess the word formed by those letters.

The disordered letters provided by me were: E C D I T N O A D I, but if you start to mix those words you will notice that they say Dedication. Why I choose that word? Because when you become a blogger, you need to know that more than a hobby, it is a lifestyle. To be a good recognized blogger, you need to do your best and be dedicated. Dedication and persistence are the basic things which make a great blogger  .

Now, I said that the contest will end when 3 persons gave me the correct answer, and those persons were:

  1. Pweng Bee of http://www.pwengbee.com/ – Winner of a 125×125 Banner on this blog for a month.

Analyzing Your Blog To Make It Grow

July 19th, 2008

Written by Mr Javo

Many bloggers in a desperate attempt to improve their blogs, attempt to do any method they read in other blogs to get more readers or traffic. They should know that each blog has a particular way to be successful, and the methods shared by those bloggers won’t help you every time. For me, a particular method could be successful as many I have shared with you, but may be for your blog, the tips I give you could not always work and the reasons could be many. From the theme to your writing style, there is a fan of possibilities which can influence over the success of your blog, and no matter what you read in other blogs, you need to analyze your blog looking for things which can improve it and grow it up.

Many times, I have read my past posts looking for material to write about, in a present. As me, I recommend you to scan the post you have already published because sometimes, you can write about a topic but you didn’t developed in a deep way the main idea of that post. So you can find material to write about by looking in your past posts, and even reading the comments and ideas shared by your readers.

Also you should analyze carefully the statistics of your blog, looking for those posts which have attracted the more quantity of visitors. Once you find a couple of posts with that characteristic, you need to study them looking for what elements made them so successful. Those elements can be many, they could be the topic or may be the way how do you structured the post, the important thing is that you need to recognize what made them successful and then, you can write more posts including those elements which made your past posts so successful before, to have the same or even more success in the present.

As blogger, based in my experience I know what things attract more visitors to my blog. Of course I cannot make that things whenever I want because it can be very difficult and hard to maintain, something that requires a lot of dedication  . But don’t worry, you can’t be constant every time! As human beings we need to relax and get out of our work (sometimes  ). But well, I suppose that you know what things attract more visitors to your blog, so you could make a campaign every month to realize those things and grow up your blog progressively each month.

Remember, you are the only one who can make your blog grow, so you need to analyze your own work and recognize what are your doing bad and what are you doing well. So then you have your mind clear, you will be able to take your blog to the next level.
