June 29th, 2008

Written by Mr Javo

Hey fans! Starting this month, Daniel of Daily Blogging Tips dot Com announced a great competition called Blogging Idol Contest.

As you should noticed in a past time of the blogosphere, there have being competitions between bloggers. The most recent was the Cowpetition between John Cow and Garry Conn, but there have being encounters between John Chow and Shoemoney, Tyler Cruz and Gyutae Park and others…

The Competition

This time, the competition will not be between two bloggers. Instead, the Blogging Idol Contest has over 100 contestants where you will need to invest all your energies if you want to be the first blogging idol.

This is a competition to motivate the development of young blogs, with 1000 subscribers or less. Also you can create a new blog just for the competition. The bloggers will compete for one month, and tracking the initial and the final number of subscribers reported from Feedburner. The blogger who manages to gain the largest number of new subscribers in that period will be declared the Blogging Idol, and will win the money prize!

In the future editions, the competition will has other variations, and instead using RSS subscribers, it could be about traffic or income generated, for example.

So the objective of this contest is to give new bloggers an opportunity to compete with others and to prove their skills on blogging and online marketing. If you don’t want to participate, you can follow the competition through the weekly report, where everyone is allowed to see what techniques and strategies are using the contestants to be the first blogging idol.

Do You Suck at Blogging?

June 29th, 2008

Written by Mr Javo

Hello readers, yesterday Zac published a post titled Do You Suck at Making Money Online? And I consider that it’s something that can create a good discussion here.

Gary Vaynerchuk was who initiated this topic with his video post I Suck!, where he talks about the things he sucks at. The thing is that he suggested to focus on what you are good at, skipping those things what you suck at.

Well I think that the people who think negatively, will not ever reach their goals, or at least, will be very difficult for them to reach their goals. This is not about blogging or making money online, this is about an attitude that you can assume in the life.

Thinking negatively or thinking the things what you suck at, will stuck you in a mental state where you will see the bad side of everything, being difficult for you to appreciate and estimate the things what you are good at. When I started blogging, I had not idea of how hard blogging could be, but really I didn’t care about that. Instead, I was very motivated to learn and do my best in this life style.

I Suck, so what?!

I can recognize when I suck and when I don’t. I’m conscious that I’m not the best to teach you about affiliate marketing for example. There are many guys like Zac Johnson who earn thousand dollars a month through this way, and I congratulate them for that. But I can’t frustrate or stop blogging because of that. Instead, it is good for me, giving me the motivation I need to keep learning about that niche, until I could find the way to be than successful as they.

So, you need to focus on what you are good at, and explode those skills. At the end, everybody has forts and weak… If you suck at blogging for example, my recommendation for you, is too keep reading and reading about it, the mind never stops learning.

To conclude, work hard in the things what you are good at, and work the hardest in the things what you suck at, but don’t surrender until you have exhausted all your energies  .

Personalize Your Mixx With Mixx Communities

June 28th, 2008

Written by Mr Javo

Hello my readers, if you are a regular user of Mixx, you should read about this new feature in their newsletter. Now, you can be in a higher level with the personalization of your Mixx with the launch of Mixx Communities. You may have already noticed that the “Groups” tab in your navigation bar has been replaced with a shiny new “Communities” tab. All of your Groups are still there and will reside under this tab but they have added Mixx Communities.

Mixx Communities offer an easier way to focus on the topics and issues that you’re most passionate about. Once you start a Mixx Community, it will reside within Mixx but you can give it your own stamp by importing an image header and/or logo, choosing a custom color scheme, and determining specific topics and categories to include. As you can see, they can be customizable so they can look pretty good!

Your new Community will have the same benefits as a Mixx Group, with a few more bells and whistles. You will have:

  • Prominently placed space for your editorial and/or promotional content
  • A sub-domain name
  • The ability to import existing tags—this means that as soon as you’ve finished your set up, your Community will already have content
  • The ability to embed video through YouTube and MetaCafé

Mixx is also excited to announce that as part of our community offering, they will allow users the ability to participate in a revenue sharing program. The revenue sharing will be made possible by Mixx’s integration with the Google AdSense API.

Though it will take a little more time than setting up a Group, creating a Mixx Community is a simple, five-step process that any non-techy person can do. But if you’re not ready to go all out, Mixx Groups are a great way to get your feet wet. It takes just a couple of minutes to set up a Group and you’ll be on your way! Then whenever you’re ready to take the plunge, you can upgrade your Group to a Community.

So, what do you think my friends? I had created a Mr. Javo community on Mixx… I want to invite you to take part in and share with me, and with my followers all the stuff you can find related to Blogging Tips, Internet Marketing, Advertising or WordPress!

Monetizing Your Website With Market Leverage

June 26th, 2008

Written by Mr Javo

I was looking the results in the poll of this month Do You Most Want To Learn About….? And I saw that the most of the people voted that they want to learn more about Affiliate Marketing. Although the poll has not finished yet, I had decided to write a post about this topic, to feed some of my readers  .

Meeting Market Leverage

Market Leverage is an affiliate program, as others like NeverblueAds or PepperJam, which you can make a lot of money by promoting services or products. Market Leverage is considerably new, but since October 2007 they are working on this area to give us the best campaigns in the affiliate marketing. The following one, is a screenshot of their main panel:

Market Leverage ~ Affiliate Marketing

As you can see, it is very clean, and it offers the featured offers, news and updates… It is a very good panel where you can see what is hot in the market.

If you are a person who frequent blogs, perhaps you already noticed the Market Leverage banner in many blogs. And I mentioned their banner, because I want to make a little review about them:

As you can see it beside this text, it shows 3 main characteristics:

  1. The Industry’s Highest Paying Publisher Rewards Program: MarketLeverage is giving away a lifetime referral bonus for each Publisher you refer to their network. You can earn (5%) five percent of the commission for each and every Publisher you refer that signs up as a MarketLeverage Publisher.
  2. The Industry’s Highest Paying Lifetime Referral Program: MarketLeverage researched and reviewed the lifetime referral programs of every affiliate network that attended Affiliate Summit West 2008 and ad-tech San Francisco 2008. They could not find another affiliate network with a higher paying lifetime referral program publicly disclosed on their website.
  3. All Payments Sent to Publishers Via FedEx: You don’t need to be stressed about where are your checks, if they are safe or not. With FedEx, you will received your payment wherever you want, and you don’t need to worry about it. Your money will be safe with this program!

I signed up to this program the last week, and some days later I received a call from them. They asked me some basic questions and after that I got approved without problems. I want to say that they provide a good support, they are very friendly and they are willing to help you with anything you need.

I consider the third feature very important in this program, which can motivate to many people to join them. Why? because when you talk about affiliate marketing, you are talking about great amounts of money. There are involved many things like referral commissions, sales commissions and lead commissions, and you will earn money constantly if you know how to promote their campaigns.

I think that they should offer PayPal as another payment method. Paypal has become the standard payment method for the most of the programs, but I think they don’t offer this because your account can be held (in PayPal) if you receive huge amounts of money… However, FedEx is great for me  .

So if you hadn’t joined to Market Leverage, don’t wait more time and sign up now.

Taking Your Blog To Another Level

June 25th, 2008

Written by Mr Javo

Hello bloggers, today I want to share with you a thought that I have stuck in my mind since some days ago. This idea involves the most of bloggers, all those who are not in the “TOP A” list of bloggers (don’t worry, I’m in that list too buddies  ).

All of us, write some posts a week with passion and dedication, giving our best and waiting impatiently to read the comments and reactions of our readers. But sometimes, though we have a good amount of regular readers, we want to have more and more, and be one of those blogs that thousands of people read daily.

There are many things which can improve considerably your blog, helping you to be one of the TOP A bloggers. I’m going to mention a couple of factors that could improve your blog (just mention ok? I can write about them if you want) :

  • Publishing full RSS Feeds
  • Writing with consistence
  • Replying your comments
  • Promoting contests
  • Publishing original content
  • Giving away free stuff
  • Getting interviewed

The possibilities are infinites. But though you try to do everything you read in other blogs, sometimes all those tips don’t work for you. So why are you reading this post? Because like you, I had tried some tips that didn’t worked for me. Now, I’m going to tell you a series of tips which I consider important, to take your blog to another higher level:

  • Take care of your Blog’s Design: Although many people don’t care about their blog’s apparency, it’s very important to have a good design. The more attractive your blog’s design, the more readers you will catch. This is a logical thing, if your blog has a poor presentation, don’t expect so much about it. Try to keep your widgets aligned, this way your sidebar will look ordered.
  • Take care of your Tagline: You need to have a good tagline, or a simple message that you can place in your header. This message needs to be short, but it must be consistent to give to the new people who come to your blog, a hint of what’s your blog about and what they will find… You got it  .
  • Upgrade your Blog: Is nice to keep upgrading constantly your blog. Upgrading is different than updating watch out! I’m not talking about posting frequently, I’m talking about providing new features in your blog. Though it can be hard, it can boost your audience and subscribers. Things like new categories, polls, widgets or even redesigning your blog, are perfect to take your blog to a higher level.
  • Give away a product for free: Everybody loves to get things for free. By giving away an eBook or another kind of document, you can highly improve your traffic and readership of your blog. In those cases, remember to leave a link back to your blog!.
  • Buy advertising: By buying advertising, you will get more exposure in the blogosphere. You can advertise in other blogs or in social networks, like StumbleUpon or Facebook. You can advertise wherever you want, there are many places to do it. The thing is that you need to advertise a Landing Page, something that I will be writing about in the next days (stay tuned alert).

What’s Next at Mr. Javo dot Com?

At the end of this month, I will finish my semester. So when I do it, I’m going to invest the most of my time here  , and there is the things I have planned to my blog:

  • Add a Newsletter, that you will receive every weekend with the hottest news.
  • Upgrade some pages, like About’s page.
  • Write more post for beginners.
  • Additional Features…

To conclude this post I want to ask you something, what do you think about this topic? Share your opinions about the factors that could help you to take your blog to another level, I want to read your ideas! I could apply some of them in the next month  .

PS: I’m wondered of how my Blogging For Begginers’ Page has grown  .
