Do You Know Your Real Blog Rank?

January 17st, 2008

Written by Mr Javo

Every blogger knows about Google PageRank and Alexa Rank, the two ranking systems most used on internet. But what about Google slaps ? all we know about the “war” between google and bloggers, decreasing our pageranks just for using keywords like “get paid per post”…The thing is your rank is constantly changing to Google but is not to Alexa. Instead Alexa rules! giving statistics of your site and ranking you for the number of traffic, unique visitors etc etc… and not for the keywords.

Which one can give you the real rank of your blog ?

IZEARanks can! RealRank is the first site ranking service that focuses exclusively on measuring the traffic and influence of individual blogs throughout the blogosphere. The service is designed to help advertisers analyze the relative reach of blogs and make informed online advertising purchasing decisions in the long run. RealRank aims to replace historically unreliable influence indicators such as Google PageRank, Alexa and Comscore by providing more accurate statistical data collected directly from the source.

While other services report rankings based on traffic sub-sampling, inbound links and external data, RealRank utilizes the IZEA Toolkit (ITK) to provide real visitor data collected from a piece of code blog owners embed on their blog. The data is used to define an individual blogs overall standing relative to other blogs participating in the program as well as in specific categories such as entertainment and technology.

Unlike other ranking systems, the RealRank scoring algorithm is public. The system weights blogs 70% on daily unique visitors, 20% by daily active inbound links and 10% by daily page views as reported by ITK. Participants can choose to expose just their RealRank score or expand reporting to include other data such as pageviews and visits. This provides advertisers with the most comprehensive and relevant view of a blog’s ability to meet specific campaign goals. RealRank is the first site ranking service that focuses exclusively on measuring the traffic and influence of individual blogs throughout the blogosphere.

RealRank is a more accurate ranking than Alexa and Google PageRank because it isn’t based on a small sample of a site’s visitors or on a censored link-weighting algorithm, instead it’s based on real traffic.

Finally, there’s a blog ranking system that uses real data to calculate which blogs are getting the most traffic and have the most influence on the web. Sign up to meet your RealRank see where you stand in the Top 100 blogs.

Google Adsense Referrals Changes

January 15st, 2008

Written by Mr Javo

Some days ago Google Adsense announced a series of changes respect to the referral program and you should know if you are displaying Adsense codes in your blog/website, although may be you already got an email from Google Adsense about it.

If you’re in North America, Latin America, or Japan, the pricing structure for AdSense referrals is changing.

These pricing changes will take place during the last week of January. A referred user who reaches $100 within 180 days of signing up and who removes all payments holds before the change occurs will generate earnings of $250 for the referring publisher. Any referred user who meets this conversion criteria after the change occurs will only generate $100 in earnings for the referring publisher. In addition, the $5 bonus will be removed at that time. Please note that the date a user was referred will only affect where the 180-day window is set but not necessarily the payout the referring publisher receives. For example, it’s possible that a user referred in early January will meet the conversion criteria before a user referred in early November, and so the resulting payout may differ.

If you’re outside of North America, Latin America, and Japan, AdSense referrals will be retired.

For publishers not located in any of the three regions detailed above, we’ll soon be retiring referrals promoting AdSense. We’ve found that this referral product has not performed as well as we had hoped in these regions. Again, please keep in mind that you can still generate referrals for the other products listed under the ‘Referrals’ section of your AdSense Setup tab.

Soon, you’ll no longer see the option to create a referral button for AdSense in your account, although existing buttons will display as normal. This specific referral type will then be retired during the last week of January - any users who meet the conversion criteria (reaching $100 in earnings within 180 days of sign-up and removing all payment holds) before the change will generate earnings of $250 for the referring publishers. Any conversions which occur after this change is made will not be recorded in your account. You may wish to begin replacing any existing referrals promoting AdSense with referrals for another product or an AdSense for content unit.

Well there is the changes, what do you think?? sorry for who are outside of North America, Latin America and Japan…I’m on Latin America but otherwise I’m banned from google adsense  .

What’s TTZ Media? probably you have saw it by there in some many blogs. TTZ Media or The Tech Zone Media is an John Chow’s advertising network, where you can earn money online with their system based on pay per click.

TTZ Media commonly displays technology advertising, but you can also set your keywords to display everything, books, gadgets and some many good stuff.

It’s based on an script like Google Adsense, with the different you can customize your displays just generating a code with other keywords. You only will need to copy and paste the script to start showing advertising on your site, and you will start to earn $0.15 per click!.

Don’t Desperate To Expand Your Blog

January 14st, 2008

Written by Mr Javo

Why bloggers are like desperate to expand their blogs? I had this question yesterday when I was dropping entrecards like a mad for everywhere. Is true that when your blog is quite new, you search for everything which can help to expand your network like social media networks, registering in all them at the same time and commenting for everywhere, but you really don’t need to do that to expand your blog.

Take It Easy

Take a breath and continue reading, take it easy!! world won’t ends tomorrow and you have a lot of time to register your blog on all those infinite stuff to increase your network. You need to go slowly and go step by step, don’t try to run when you just crawl because you won’t reach the goals you set. Expand your blog, get a lot of readers and tons of traffic daily can be a slow process, but you don’t need to desperate. Tagging, commenting and subscribing to feeds are a good way to do it, but it won’t be reflected since morning to night and you need to be a little patience, when you think your blog could be over, it will reborn like a fenix, thats guaranteed.

Now I’m taking it more slow, I’m seeing how my statistics are increasing and I feel happy for that. I hope that this will continue throughout the year, so I’ll fulfilled one of my goals for this year 2008 .

Using Social Media Networks

January 13st, 2008

Written by Mr Javo

What’s Social Media Networks ?

The Social Media Networks are a great tool for all us, the bloggers. With them, news, blog posts, photos, videos, and podcasts are made public via social media websites through submission. Thus networks are big communities online, normally accompanied with a voting process to make media items become “popular” and be shown on the popular or hot list.

The Importance Of Social Media Networks

You should know in the blogging world, be referred on other sites is the key to expand your blog and attract more readers. And what’s better than social media networks? All them are really important to get new readers because their system makes easy the promotion task, showing your link for everywhere and letting to the people rate your post/blog.

All thus latest days I was joining to many networks, the next is a list with some of them:

When someone give you a digg, a stumble or tagged you, your respective post will be show in their social media profile as a recent activity. Everybody who check their profile, will see your post and the reviews about it, and there is good possibility that visit your post. But how can you get this points, reviews or comments? very simple, you need to start to add people to your profile, look for who has a good mount of friends and review their profile. Giving good reviews about their posts and commenting on other profiles will help you to make tons of friends and you will start to attract them, getting their attention and get tons of traffic by there. Yesterday, Tal Siach from www.walyou.com stumble my post Introducing OIOpublisher Pluging For Wordpress and I got a dramatical increase over my traffic, see the graphic:

As you can see, on my first days I was getting ~100 visitors by day, and you can see how my traffic exploded from ~150 to almost 300 visitors yesterday! and that was with a simple stumble, imagine if you get many stumbles, diggs and reddits everyday…that is to get 5000+ visitors by day ! think about it.

Social Media Advantages

  • Cost: you need to pay for nothing, all those stuff is free!.
  • Improve Traffic: get tons of visitors by day, getting more readers and expanding your network exponentially.
  • Make Friends: make new friends and partnership. This will help you to future actions/deals.
  • Share Your Media: your media will be public shared: posts, photos, blogs and everything you want.
  • Discover: discover interesting sites with the big directory.

Disadvantages? I don’t think so !!!

Moral: Using social media networks you can easily share your media with people around the world. Those networks are perfect to get a viral traffic, being linked in too many different profiles, you can explode your traffic in few days, you noticed it, the changes are instantly  .
